Overview

Educa allows you to upload videos up to 300MB. If your video is larger than this, you can:

  • Compress the file size using an online tool.

  • Embed videos that are already uploaded to YouTube or Google Drive.

Note: Educa does not currently support importing videos from Google Photos. This is due to the non-standard formats Google Photos may use. Instead, upload the original video to Educa or follow the instructions below to embed videos.

Embedding Videos from YouTube

  1. Find the video you want to embed on YouTube and click Share.

  2. Select Embed and copy the embed code provided.

  3. In Educa, create your post and open the Source Code view under the View menu in the editor.

  4. Paste the embed code into the Source Code box. Place the code:

    • At the very top (before the first < tag) for a new post, or

    • Within the existing code (alway after > and before <) if other content is present.

    • If you are unsure, it is best to put the video embed code at the very top before the first < or at the bottom after the last >.

  5. Click OK and publish your post.

☝️ Please note. Do not modify or delete existing source code unless you are confident in how it works. The code ensures your post displays text, images, and videos properly.

Embedding Videos from Google Drive

  1. Upload your video to Google Drive.

  2. Right-click the video file and select Get Shareable Link:

    • Ensure Link Sharing is turned on.

    • In Sharing Settings, allow anyone with the link to view the video.

  3. Open the video in a new window:

    • Double-click the video to open it.

    • Click the three dots in the top-right corner and select Open in New Window.

  4. In the new window, click the three dots again and select Embed Item.

  5. Copy the embed code provided.

  6. In Educa, create your post and open the Source Code view under the View menu.

  7. Paste the embed code into the Source Code box. Click OK and publish your post.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Video not displaying? Ensure the embed code was pasted correctly into the Source Code box.

  • Google Drive link not working? Double-check that sharing settings allow public viewing.
