Getting a video too large error? There are a couple of ways around the Educa video file size limit.

Educa allows you to upload videos up to 300MB.  If your video is larger than 300MB, you can reduce (compress) the file size significantly by using an online compressor tool or you can embed videos that are uploaded to Google Drive or to YouTube first. Here's how embedding a video works.

Note: Downloading and importing videos from Google Photos is currently not supported. This is due to an issue with how Google Photos alters the original video to a non-standard format. We suggest you upload the original video directly to Educa or, alternatively, you can follow the suggestions below to use YouTube.

Embed Videos from YouTube

Start by finding the video you wish to embed on Youtube and click on Share. Then select the Embed option and copy the link.

Now head back to Educa and create your post.

On the text box, under View open Source Code. Paste the link into the pop up text box and click Ok.  This GIF shows an empty story and so there is no other source code. If you have added text or other images, there will be source code when you open it up. You can look through the code to see your text or images, and then insert your video embed code where you want the video to show - always after > and before <. If you are unsure, it is best to put the video embed code at the very top left before the first < or at the bottom right after the last >.

Pro Tip!! Do not delete or change existing Source Code. This is the code that represents your story, including text or images already added. And so, when you are inserting video embed code, do just that - insert it, do not delete anything that is already there.

Once your post is published families and educators will be able to view the embedded link inside Educa.

Embed Videos from Google Drive

Upload your video into Google Drive and head to the file. Right click on the video and select Get Shareable Link. Ensure that Link Sharing is turned on and open the Sharing Settings to allow anyone with the link to view the video.

Next, you'll need to get the link to embed your video. Double click on your video to open it. Once open click on the 3 dots in the right corner of the screen and select Open In New Window.

In the new window that appears, click the 3 dots again and select Embed Item

Copy all the text from the pop-up box that appears and click Ok

Now head back to Educa and create your post.

On the main text box select View and open up the Source Code. Simply paste the link into the pop up text box and click Ok

Once your post is published families and educators will be able to view the embedded link inside Educa.
