Using the Image Editor

The image editor in Educa provides several tools to help you customise and optimise your images once they have been uploaded.

Here are the key options available:

  • Alignment: Align images to the left, centre, or right to fit your content layout.

  • Resize: Adjust the size of the image. Images are uploaded at 50% by default.

  • Add Borders: Select a border to frame your image.

  • Edit: Access a range of standard editing options like, image rotation, cropping, and colour adjustments.

  • Replace: Swap the current image with a new one without removing formatting.

  • Remove: Delete the image from the editor if no longer needed.

These options are accessible when you click on an image within the editor. A toolbar will appear with these controls, allowing you to quickly make adjustments.

Example 1: Resizing an Image

Images are auto-resized to fit within the default layout when uploaded (at 50%), but manual adjustments can help achieve the desired look.

  1. Click on the image in the editor.

  2. Small square icons will appear around the image edges (resize handles).

  3. Drag these handles inward or outward to adjust the size.

  4. Use the alignment toolbar if needed to reposition the image for a better layout.

Example 2: Rotating images

If an image uploads sideways or upside down, you can quickly correct it using the built-in orientation tool in the Image Editor:

  1. Click on the image to activate the Image Editor.

  2. Click on the Edit icon to access the options menu

  3. Use the Orientation option in the toolbar to rotate the image to the correct position.

  4. Click Apply, then Save to save your changes.

Watch the steps in action below:

Alternative: If using a smartphone, rotate the image in the device's photo editor and save it before uploading.
