When you write a story, who else can see or edit it depends on one site-wide setting: Enable Story Collaboration. This setting only affects teachers – families never have edit access to teacher stories.

Story Collaboration Setting

πŸ”’ Site Admins only – Only users with site admin access can change this setting. If you don’t see it, ask someone with site admin access at your centre.

To change this, go to: Site Settings > Site Features > Enable Story Collaboration

If Story Collaboration is enabled (Default)

  • Draft stories

    • All teachers linked to that child can:

      • See the draft

      • Open and edit the draft

  • Published stories

    • All teachers linked to that child can:

      • See the story

      • Edit the story

This setup is best if your team wants to co-write and improve stories together.

If Story Collaboration is disabled

  • Draft stories

    • Only the teacher who created the draft can:

      • See it

      • Edit it

  • Published stories

    • All teachers linked to that child can:

      • See the story

    • Other teachers cannot edit the story (view-only).

This setup is best if your centre wants individual ownership of stories.
