Educa Assist offers four built-in features to help with common writing tasks, from fixing typos to improving tone or translating stories. This guide explains what each feature does and when you might use it.

Spelling and Grammar Check

Fix spelling, punctuation and grammar in one go.
This feature helps you feel confident that your writing is correct and polished. It reviews your selected text and suggests improvements for:

  • Spelling errors

  • Grammar issues

  • Punctuation

Educa Assist supports both US and UK English spelling and grammar conventions. Site Admins can switch variants:

  1. Go to Settings > Site Settings > Educa Assist

  2. Under the "Spelling and Grammar" section, use the dropdown menu to select your preferred English variant.

Improve Flow and Tone

Ideal when you want your message to land well — and are open to a second take.
This feature offers light-touch suggestions to help your writing flow better and feel clear and natural, while keeping your voice and message. It’s designed to:

  • Sharpen your writing without taking over

  • Offer a helpful second look at how things flow

  • Support your voice, not replace it

You’ll still want to read it back and make it your own. It’s not about rewriting for you - you write first, then choose if you'd like a bit of polish.

💡 Suggestions are optional — keep what works, ignore the rest.

Add Emojis

Add a little extra fun or feeling to your message.
This feature suggests emojis based on your writing. It’s a light-touch way to:

  • Sprinkle in personality or playfulness

  • Make updates even more engaging for families

  • Highlight emotions or key moments visually

Translate

Bridge language gaps and make communication easier for everyone.
This feature lets you translate between English and 15 supported languages — in either direction. It's helpful for:

  • Adding a translated version of a story so families can read in their home language

  • Writing in your own language first, then translating to English — great for teachers who are more confident in another language

  • Helping families comment in their home language, then translating their responses to English to keep the conversation going
