Why share a Family Story?
Family Stories help your child’s educators connect home and centre learning. Great ideas include:
A follow-up to a recent story from the centre
A new interest, skill, or milestone
Highlights from weekends, holidays, or special events
Changes you’ve noticed in mood or behaviour
Any special photos you want to share
How to create your story
Start a story
Select the + button in the top right of any page then 'Story'.
Give it a clear title
Short and specific works best (e.g., “First bike ride – 12 May”).Add your content
Text: Share what happened, what your child said, or why this moment matters.
Media: Click Add Media to upload photos and videos (tip: 3-5 images tell a great story).(Optional) Email educators
If you want your child’s educators to get notified about your post, tick Send Email.Finish up
Publish – Shares the story to your child’s portfolio. Linked educators and your child’s family can see it straight away.
Draft – Saves it privately for you to finish later (only you can see drafts).
Cancel – Closes without saving.
Important things to know
Who can see it? Published Family Stories are visible to your child’s linked educators and family members on Educa. They are not shared with other families.
Want a private back-and-forth? Use Child Notes for sensitive or private updates with educators.
Keep it simple: A few photos and a short paragraph is perfect.
