Plans can be archived when they are no longer active but may still be useful later. Archived plans can be viewed and activated again at any time. Plans can only be deleted if they are not linked to any stories.
🔒 Site Admins only: Only teachers with site admin access can archive or delete plans. If you don’t see these options, you don’t have permission. Ask someone with site admin access at your centre to help.
Archive a Plan
You can archive a plan from the main Planning area, or from a child or teacher profile.
Go to Planning.
Open the All Plans view.
Or, go to a child profile or teacher profile and open their list of plans.
Find the plan you want to archive.
Click Archive.
Confirm that you want to archive the plan if prompted.
The plan will be moved out of the active plans list.
View Archived Plans
Archived plans can still be viewed from the Planning area.
Go to Planning.
Open the Archived section.
Find the archived plan you want to view.
Archived plans are not permanently removed. You can activate them again at any time.
Activate an Archived Plan
If you need to use an archived plan again, you can reactivate it.
Go to Planning.
Open the Archived section.
Find the plan you want to use again.
Click Activate.
The plan will move back into your Active list.
Delete a Plan
Deleting a plan is different from archiving. A deleted plan is permanently removed and cannot be restored.
To delete a plan:
Go to the plan you want to delete.
Click Archive.
When prompted, choose Delete.
Important: You can only delete plans that are not linked to any stories.
If the plan is linked to one or more stories, you will not see the Delete option. The plan will be archived instead.
Why Some Plans Cannot Be Deleted
Plans linked to stories cannot be deleted because the plan link forms part of the story record.
Keeping the plan linked ensures stories remain complete and accurate, even if the stories or plans are archived. This helps avoid incomplete information appearing on learning stories.
Delete a Plan That Is Already Archived
If a plan is already archived and you want to delete it:
Go to Planning.
Open the Archived Plans section.
Find the plan.
Click Activate.
Once the plan is active again, follow the steps above to delete it.
If the plan is linked to a story, the delete option will still not appear.
