What is a Student User?
A Student User account lets school students build a personal portfolio of stories that can be shared with teachers and families.
The video below shows what Educa looks like when a student logs in with a Student User account.
Students can:
Write their own stories in Educa.
Upload work from external sources like Google Drive.
Set and view goals.
Note: All student stories must be approved by a teacher before they are published.

How to Enable Student Users
🔒 Site Admins only – If you don’t see this option, you don’t have permission. Ask someone with site admin access at your centre to help.
Go to Settings > Site Settings > Site Features.
Find Student Users and tick the checkbox to enable it.
Your changes save automatically.
Once enabled, you can add login access to individual student profiles.
Invite an Individual Student User
Open the student’s profile.
Select Edit Profile.
Add the student’s email address.
Select Invite.
The student will receive an email invitation to set up their access to Educa.
Note: Each Student User needs their own email address to receive an invitation and log in.
Invite Student Users in Bulk
If your school uses the Edge Learning Solutions integration, student profiles can be imported into Educa through the API. If the imported profiles include email addresses, you can send Student User invitations to them in bulk from Manage Users.
Go to Settings > Manage Users.
Open the tab for your site’s profile label, for example Students or Learners.
Select Invite All in the top-right corner.
Each student will receive an email invitation to set up their Educa access.
Note: The name of this tab depends on your site’s branding settings. For example, your site may use Students, Learners, Children or another profile label.
