Using the Image Editor

The image editor in Educa provides a set of tools to help you customise and optimise your images once they have been uploaded.

Here are the key options available:

  • Quick resizing: Change the size of the images to 33%, 50% or 100% in one click

  • Edit image : Rotate images, zoom in or out and crop them in within standardised image formats.

  • Remove: Delete the image from the editor if no longer needed.

  • Add borders or resize : Increase or decrease the size of the image (Please note: Borders are currently under construction and will back soon!)

  • Align: Align the image vertically or horizontally

These options are accessible when you click on an image while editing the content. A toolbar will appear with these controls, allowing you to quickly make adjustments.

πŸ’‘ For additional ideas on enhancing your story layouts and designs, check out our Story Layouts & Designs Guide.

Example 1: Resizing an Image

Images are auto-resized to fit within the default layout when uploaded (at 50%), but manual adjustments can help achieve the desired look.

Click on the image in the editor to activate the editor toolbar:

  1. Option 1: Quick resizing by choosing a pre-set size: 33% - 50% -100%

  2. Option 2: For more customised resizing click on the icon in the toolbar.

    1. A box with the Image properties will pop up.

    2. Adjust the size of the image by replacing the first value in the box.

    3. Click Apply to implement the changes.

Example 2: Rotating images

If an image uploads sideways or upside down, you can quickly correct it via the Rotate option in the image toolbar:

  1. Click on the image to activate the toolbar and click on the Edit icon to access the options.

  2. Use the 90˚ button for quick 90˚ rotation or the slider to rotate the image to the correct position.

  3. Click Save, then Update to implement your changes.

πŸ“± Alternative: If using a smartphone, rotate the image in the device's photo editor and save it before uploading.
